How do I bring the Together Teacher to my school, district, or nonprofit?

I am currently hired by school principals, district leaders, and nonprofit organizations that provide teacher professional development. I do not currently offer open workshops for individual teachers. It is definitely on my list for the future, but I’ve been kept very busy with districts, organizations, and nonprofits. If you are interested in bringing me to your school or district, contact me directly and I can give you additional information to share with your principal.

Do you conduct workshops for people other than teachers?

Yes, all the time! I do conduct workshops for other professionals who work support schools, like principals or folks at the district level. Click here for a listing of other workshop options for school leaders and other managers. Additionally, I privately coach senior level education executives. Please contact me directly if you are interested in learning more.

I have other professionals who work in my building. Would the Together Group workshops be useful for them, too?

Yes. We frequently have social workers, guidance counselors, paraprofessionals, and interventionists attend our workshops.

Are you ever going to develop apps?

Good question. It’s on my Upcoming To-Do List, but for now I’m comfortable recommending strong tools that already exist. I’m a fan of Microsoft OneNote, Google products, Evernote, Remember the Milk, and Toodledo.

How much do your workshops cost?

Cost varies depending on length of time, location, and level of customization. There is also a per person materials fee that includes a copy of The Together Teacher, unlimited access to all customizable templates, an interactive handout, and a folder to keep it all organized.

Do you offer “train-the-trainer” workshops?

Right now, I spend a lot of time intimately getting to know schools, districts, and organizations so I can tailor my approach to meet their needs. I do not currently offer any “train-the-trainer” workshops, but it’s something I will consider for the future.

My students are so disorganized! Do you offer workshops for them, too?

A number of people have asked me for help on this front. While my focus is primarily teachers, school leaders, district staff, and other school professionals, I am open to piloting a student workshop.

What if I want to design my own training based on your book?

Go for it! I have included a Professional Development Guide on the book CD with some suggestions. I consider it an excellent resource for your entire staff. We also created book club resources available for free download here.

I heard your workshops actually make people laugh. Why is that?

Well, let’s admit it. When you hear you are signed up to attend a four hour workshop on organization, you may find yourself wishing you could stay home. For most people, this topic is boring, intimidating, or both. I work hard to share personal stories (at the expense of my ever- understanding husband!) give lots of relevant examples, and offer many choices.

What’s your take on work-life balance?

I never intended for The Together Teacher to have anything to do with work-life balance. However, as I talked to people who had been through my training, I kept hearing stories about how they had found time to exercise, or eat healthy, or not stay up until midnight completing report cards. I really worry about educator burnout, and I’m glad I can be part of the solution to combat it.
