Ten Steps to Get Started

10 Ways to Get Started

  1. Register for our MOOC via Coursera. Free, engaging, and totally awesome!
  2. Let me personally welcome you to our website via live video feed. Ok, it’s not live. But it is a welcome video.
  3. Download (for free!) a chapter from my Together Teacher book, “Deal with Your Paper and Stuff: How to Find what You Need in Under Ten Seconds.” This should give you a pretty good idea of some of my favorite words: efficient, focused, accessible. Take a gander.
  4. Read my book, The Together Teacher: Plan Ahead, Get Organized and Save Time! It comes with an awesome CD of templates and calendars. Try getting some colleagues on board, too, by starting a book club – discussion guides are ready to go right here. And note we anticipate a second book, The Together Leader, arriving in 2016!
  5. Take a Total System Tour with each of these accomplished educators and leaders: See Michelle H.’s hybrid system, Julie Ann’s paper-based system, and Sarah M.’s 100% digital amazing-ness.
  6. Get a big picture view of what we’re all about by checking out our Together Group System Overview and Resources. Pick and choose the tools and templates that are most helpful to you. Explore the ones you want to find out more about.
  7. Choose your sword. Options include the original and very vintage “Flexy Friend,” the always classic 3-Ring Binder, the snazzier and jazzier Arc Notebook and the tech-tastic Outlook, Google, and Evernote platforms.
  8. What do The Together Group and Cosmopolitan have in common? Well, too much to list here, actually. But one thing we share is an affinity for great quizzes. Get to know your preferences by taking the Time or Task-Oriented quiz.
  9. TTG-4Sign-up for a Workshop. We deliver professional development across the country to teachers, school leaders, operations staff, central office teams, and nonprofit organizations. See it in action here.
  10. Meet a couple of our Together Teachers: Drew S. in Washington, DC, Katie B. in Milwaukee and Susan from New York. Like the look of those Weekly Worksheets? Download one or two or twenty here!
